Terms and conditions
Confirmation and payment terms
We require a deposit of 25% of the total event cost (plus VAT) to secure your preferred date in our diary. The deposit is non-refundable and non – transferable. We accept cash or cheques payable to Dinner By Design or a money transfer to the Dinner By Design bank account. Cheques must clear before we can confirm your booking.
Four months prior to your Event we will invoice you for 50% of your full booking fee.
Six weeks prior to your Event the remaining 25% of your fee will become due.
Contract
Bookings will be confirmed after the deposit has been received and a copy of these terms and conditions has been signed and returned. 2 copies of these terms and conditions will be sent to you. Please sign and date both copies and return one to Mark Stitson, 2, Castle Mews, Castle Street, Holt, Wrexham, LL13 9XY. Once Dinner By Design receives your signed terms and conditions, a contract is deemed to exist between you and Dinner By Design. This contract shall be governed by all aspects of English law. It can be modified by Dinner By Design by a supplementary letter in writing. Please read these terms and conditions carefully before signing and contact us if there is anything that you do not understand.
Cancellation:
In the unlikely event that you have to cancel your booking Dinner By Design will charge you for a percentage of the total anticipated costs as follows:
Up to six months in advance 25% of the cost will be charged (holding deposit)
3-6 months in advance 50 % of the cost will be charged
1-3 months in advance 60 % of the cost will be charged
Less than one month 90% of the cost will be charged
7 days in advance 100% of the cost will be charged.
Damage
You are responsible for any damage caused to any part of Dinner By Design propety, default or neglect of the client, subcontractor, guest, employee or attendant and shall pay to Dinner By Design on demand the amount required to make good or remedy any such damage and for any loss of buisness as a result. A damages deposit of £100 must be paid no later than 4 weeks before the event. It must also be shown that you have taken out event insurance which covers damage to any part of Dinner By Design property, and a copy of this is to be provided. Your deposit will be returned to you a week after your event providing no damage has occured. If there has been damage the cost of repair will be taken from your damages deposit and we will provide you with a copy of the bill for the cost of that repair. If you do not provide proof of event insurance that covers you for damage to the property a damages deposit of £250 must be paid no later than three weeks before the wedding. If you are not covered by insurance and damage caused is in excess of £250 you agree to pay Dinner By Design the extra amount on demand. You agree that if you have taken out wedding insurance you will claim on your insurance for the cost of significant repairs. Anyone causing willful damage will be asked to leave.
Electrical Equipment
All electrical equipment must be PAT tested before it is brought on site. This includes all DJ and band equipment . It is your responsibility to ensure that all equipment has been tested within the last 12 months. Please check with your band and DJ as untested equipment will not be permitted on site. Any qualified electrician can carry out a PAT test for a small charge per item. PAT = Portable Appliance Test.
Responsible point of contact
We ask you to appoint one person for your event to be our appointed contact during the event. Dangerous, offensive or inappropriate behaviour will be reported to the person responsible and a decision will be made at the discretion of Dinner By Design as to whether to ask the offending guest to leave or if there are further problems stop the whole event and ask everyone to leave. No refund will be given.
Equipment and property
You bring your own equipment and propertly to an any event hosted by Dinner By Design at your own risk and Dinner By Design accepts no responsibility or liability for any loss or damage, this includes cars and other vehicles .
Price variation
Dinner By Design reserves the right without warning to increase prices in the event of circumstances beyond its control, e.g. increases in alcohol duty in the Chancellor’s Budget.
Force Majeure
If Dinner By Design is limited or hindered from hosting the event or providing any facility booked by you due to circumstances beyond it’s control e.g government intervention, acts of God, civil disturbance, war.national or local diaster, strikes, labour disputes or a licensing issue, then the liability of Dinner By Design to you shall not exceed the amount paid by you to Dinner By Design in respect of the event.
